HOMEWORK
            Homework is an extension of classroom learning.  Besides the assigned written work, your child should be reading and studying each and every night.  Work that is not completed in class will become additional homework.  Beginning in mid-September, a decodable phonics book will be sent home four nights each week to be read at home, initialed and returned the next day.

Accelerated Reader
Each month your child needs to read 2 books from the accelerated reader list and pass the comprehension test on the classroom computer.

Agenda Books
Your child will copy daily assignments into his/her agenda book.  After your child has completed the assignments, please initial the agenda book every day.  Your child needs to return the agenda book each day.

Daily Folders
            Your child has a folder which he/she will take home daily.  The left (L) pocket of the folder will have notes and papers that are to be left at home, and the right (R) pocket will have homework that is to be completed and returned to school the next day.

Monday Folders
            Each Monday, graded work will be sent home in a pocket folder with a sheet enclosed for you to initial.  Please review these assignments with your child.  It is your child’s responsibility to return his/her Monday folder each Tuesday.
